Our roots go back to early 2007, when a blog entited "Dead Serious Ghost Investigators" was started,  The blog still exists at http://deadseriousghostinvestigators.blogspot.com.  You can still see the original post back in January of that year.  During that year, DSGI turned into a three man team.  After a slow start in two years with only a handful of cases, in 2009 more members were added to complete a core five man team.   DSGI was renamed the Illinois Paranormal Historical Society on July 1, 2009. 

We have since built this team as a paranormal investigation team with a historical research twist.  We believe that researching the history of a location that is claimed haunted will help us and the client better understand what may be causing the paranormal phenomena.  We understand that not all locations that are haunted may be related to its history, but we find the majority do.  Our goal is to not only conduct a paranormal investigation, but historical research as well, hence the name Illinois Paranormal Historical Society.
